Throughout the year, Maryland Institute for Dialogue organizes trips to Turkey with academics, scholars and government officials in order to promote intercultural awareness and knowledge. During these trips, the participants find opportunity to enjoy the rich historical heritage of Turkey which consists of elements from all Abrahamic faiths, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Moreover, they get a chance to connect with local people during the events hosted by the local people. This unique experience provides the participants with the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the local culture and share their own culture with the local people. In addition, the visits with the local authorities of the cities visited help strengthen intercultural bonds at public level.
